These two classic Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman limousines, the last of the hand built Mercedes, were ordered new from the factory in Stuttgart by Hugh Hefner of Playboy magazine. After passing from his ownership, they were separated and went into private collections until we acquired the 1969 car in late 2003, followed by the "one in a billion" opportunity to acquire its twin, the 1971 car, just a few months later in early 2004, and re-unite them after several years apart. On a still night I swear you can hear them quietly reminiscing !

Both cars feature the rare ( only 140 built ) 6 door configuration, with forward facing seats at the centre doors, and the hydraulically operated reclining seat at the rear.

They have all the original factory privacy options, including curtains to the rear compartment, tinted glass, and soundproof glass centre division, with intercom system to communicate with the driver. They also feature the extremely smooth riding, and adjustable air suspension system, and factory air conditioning.

A comprehensive AV system upgrade for both cars, as well as our 600 Landaulet and 600 Limousine, will feature 15" LCD screens, DVD player, navigation system, and premium CD sound system, and connections for laptop computers, all carefully integrated into the original Burr Walnut cabinetry, making these classic limousines not only the ultimate in luxury and style, but also a practical mobile office environment for todays executive requirements.

Both cars have been extensively restored by their previous owners at a cost of more than US$100,000 but still retain the original leather to the rear seats ~ which after exhaustive scientific analysis, was found to be heavily impregnated with Bunny DNA. ~ Oh, if only they could talk !

The car on this page is the 1971 example, registered in NZ with Hefners personal California license plate "HMH 1" and has the original TV in the rear compartment.

The interior is finished in gorgeous red leather, with acres of flawless Zebrano wood and several tonnes of immaculate chrome ~ even inside the doors.
